Continuum - Stanley Furniture defines the "Transitional" category in this single versatile collection. This group provides the perfect blend of a broad range of looks reaching from the reliable traditional to sleek modern. The result is furniture that has the feel of crisp contemporary with a softer, easier-to-live-with traditional appeal. The familiar feel of traditional is exhibited in the fine craftsmanship of Chippendale fretwork used in fresh, unusual applications on dining chairs and on table and desk bases. An interwoven wood motif is carried on select beds and storage pieces. Contemporary elements are apparent in the consistent perimeter framing around edges of case pieces that seemingl "float," not rest, on the floor. Additional aspects of more modern design are revealed in the use of pleasant, yet unexpected contrasts, details, and scale. The collection, while offering this multiplicity of style, also provides an accommodating selection of two exquisite lightly distressed cherry finishes -- Amaretto Cherry (darker) and Candlelight Cherry (lighter). This case is awesome. We are using it to house our fine mineral collection. It is much prettier in person and is built really well. I would have liked more than one light but the one that it does have has two settings, high and low. At low it sets the ambiance at high it lights up everything in the case. The front sliding door works as smooth as can be and the shelves are very nice. I will buy more of them as needs arise.
